This course provides an in-depth analysis of legal and ethical issues in the criminal justice system. Students will examine the philosophy of ethics and how it is correlated to the legal system. Students will have weekly discussions on the principles of public service and discover social, political, and related ethical challenges that leaders experience in criminal justice.
Students will evaluate demographic data, community involvement, and certain arguments and debates to identify with, analyze, and address legal and ethical issues that impact law enforcement at the local, state, and federal level. Finally, students will demonstrate their ability to provide sanctions for improvement and change in the criminal justice system.
