This course explains how literacy is basic to student learning in the content areas. Using research-based strategies, students will learn to develop reading, writing, thinking, and viewing strategies to promote literacy and learning with small groups or whole group configurations. Factors that affect literacy engagement and instruction programs for struggling and ESL students are explored. Standard alignment with instruction and assessments are applied to a thematic unit that forms the central focus of learning strategies Prerequisites: ED 204, 205, 206.
