This course studies the physical, political and economic aspects of the geography of the major regions of the world. This course is designed to give an introduction to the greater world around us. It will introduce geographic concepts such as place, culture, spatial variation, political and economic geography and human-environment interaction. We will learn these concepts by studying them systematically and by applying them to real-world locations and situations through the study of world regions and current world news events. The purpose of the student is to convey clearly and concisely the nature of geography, its intellectual challenges, and how it is intimately connected to all parts of daily life.
