ED 501 is a graduate research course that focuses on technology integration research studies and assessment of the effectiveness of technology integration in the classroom. It assumes the teacher candidate has basic computer literacy. This course is delivered on 3 levels:

  1. Research: Teacher candidates research effective methodology and pedagogy in technology integration
  2. Technical: Teacher candidates explore emerging technologies (which includes assistive technologies) and their relevancy to academic content
  3. Design, Preparation and Assessment: Teacher candidates apply a variety of design models to create and assess a learning environment enhanced by technology

Overall, this course is designed to provide research opportunities for teacher candidates to assess technology effectiveness relative to educational methodology where technology is used as a tool in the learning process, consistent with curriculum objectives.
